Trips & Park Visits

Carowinds, Tuesday, April 11th, 2023

I recently went to Carowinds, and had a great time. First, I rode Fury 325 in the back row. It was an amazing ride, and was also my first giga coaster. Next, I rode Hurler. It was a walk on, and I see why. It was an extemely rough ride, but right turn enthusiasts might like it. Next I rode Carolina Goldrusher which was a pretty fun ride. Then, I rode Copperhead Strike, which is a fast paced ride with lots of hangtime, and pretty good theming. After that, we headed over to Aeronautica Landing, which only opened a few days earlier. We went to ride Afterburn, and opted for the front row. There were 2 groups of people ahead of us, when someone threw up on the ride. They cleaned it up, and ran the train empty a few times. We finally got on, and it was a great ride, especially in the front row. Lastly, we rode Intimidator (not 305), which has plenty of camelback hills. I like Intimidator's staggered seats. Overall all the rollercoasters (except for Hurler) were fun and enjoyable rides.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Saturday, October 22nd, 2022

We drove down to the park that morning, so we got there a bit after it opened. We parked in the Scotland parking lot, which is across the highway, and didnt seem like it's used much. We got on the tram to the front of the park, and headed straight towards Pantheon. After riding Pantheon, we headed over to Verbolten. My whole family rode it the first time, then the next time just my brother and I rode it. We all went and rode Alpengeist, and it's queue was completely filled not too long after we got in line. After Alpengeist, we went to ride the classic Loch Ness Monster. After that, we didn't ride InvadR that day because the line was extemely long. Next we rode Griffon, which is a fun and smooth ride. Then, we went to Festhaus, as it was one of the only resturant that was open. The line to get food was going outside the building to the soon-to-be DarKoaster building. After we ate, the park started to get spooky. The haunted houses were opening up. The first haunted house we did was Witch of the Woods, which went into the woods near the former Drachen Fire plot. Next we went to Nevermore: Chapter 2, which was another haunted house nearby, in the Drachen Fire station building. We then went to Death Water Bayou, which is behind the park's river rapids ride. It had many small buildings, and was quite cool. Since we were near, we went on a night ride on Apollo's Chariot, which was amazing, because for most of the ride I could not see a thing. After that, we visited Killarney Diner, which was probably my favorite. It was a bloody diner with undead workers, in the building where Battle for Eire (and many other rides) used to be. Lastly, we did Inferno, which was under Escape from Pompeii. Overall, it was a great time, fun rides, and spooky haunted houses.

Hersheypark, Tuesday, August 16 & Wednesday, August 17, 2022

Day 0:This was the day we drove up to Hershey, and got to our hotel. We got dinner, and went to Chocolate World. We rode the dark ride explaining how they made chocolate. Day 1: We first went to Storm Runner, which has an extremely powerful lauch, but is a fun ride. Next, my brother and I rode Jolly Rancher Remix. We then met up with my cousin, and rode Great Bear. It is unique how it the layout was made to maneuver around other rides and over the creek. We then rode Coal Crackerwhich is a pretty fun log flume. At the top, it has a bit of rapids section, and even a pop of airtime at the bottom of the drop. Next, we went towards the back of the park, looked at Wildcat, and rode Laff Trakk. I like Laff Trakk's theming, all the glow in the dark things on the walls and things you go through. Also, the queue line has funky mirrors in it, which makes the line a bit more fun. After that, we rode Lightning Racers, which are fun racing wooden rollercoasters, and even more fun when you're on one side and your friends or family are on the other side. We also rode Tidal Force, and some other water rides, but that's pretty much it for that day. Day 2: The second day, we waited almost 2 hours for Reese's Cupfusion. Probably wasnt the best idea, but it was still a fun ride. We went back towards the back of the park, and rode Lightning Racers on the opposite sides than we did the day prior. Next, my brother, mom and I rode Wild Mouse, which is, a wild mouse. We headed back towards The Hollow, and rode Skyrush. Skyrush was quite a fun ride, even though I greyed out on it. We walked along the path under Skyrush, took plenty of pictures and videos, and made our way to Candymonium. My dad, brother and I all rode Candymonium, and it was alot of fun. We were going to ride it again, but it was closed due to rain. We went to ride Laff Trakk again, because it was one of the only rides open, but everyone else had the same idea, so we ended up riding the train. We ended up riding Laff Trakk again later that evening. Overall, it was a fun trip, even though the park was pretty crowded.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Saturday, April 30th & Sunday, May 1st, 2022

As soon as the park opened, we went right to Pantheon, as it was the new and unique. Pantheon is a great ride, with comfortable restraints, good elements, and good airtime. We rode all the rollercoasters, which are all good ones. Except for Tempesto, which my brother and I got in line for, when they made an announcement saying that all rides were closed do to inclement weather. Both days were fun and we had a good time.
